I love the mix of old stones being reclaimed by lichens and the newer cross. The repetition of the crosses … this is a great image.
Thanks. I recounted and, if I include the utility pole, there are 21 crosses and one bird. 🙂

Took me three times, but I finally found 21 crosses also. Had to keep starting over!
I had to recount too. There was a grave that I actually pulled off the road to photograph because it had the Chevrolet logo planted on top. Then I got close. A newer grave of a Marine lance corporal, obviously killed overseas with other memorabilia, including a photo with the family that has “We miss you” written on it. Made me very sad. I won’t post that.
Those scenes break my heart. And they never seem to end. 🙁
