Crumbling paint reminds me, have you ever checked out some of the urban exploration sites online (especially in facebook)? Interesting textures … spooky places … have you done any “hard core” urban exploration?
I would be a total junkie for that. My photography tends that way. We’re heading to New Orleans soon , where I spent my undergraduate time. I would love to shoot in the Lower 9th Ward. Post-Katrina, the shooting would be rich. Trouble is, it feels disrespectful, “ruins porn.”
I agree — people might take it the wrong way if you take shots of Post Katrina N.O. Detroit has some interesting material though. Speaking of “ruins porn”, have you ever seen the “cabin porn” site? A friend told me about it and I was afraid to visit the site because of the name (!) but I did and it was great. No ruins, just beautiful cabins across the globe. It’s called “freecabinporn.com”. (Hopefully wordpress won’t block this site name!)
I’ll definitely check that out. I love interesting cabins. Thanks for the lead.
Enjoy!
I have it bookmarked on my computer … bookmarked, but the name of the link is changed in my toolbar … yikes! What an unfortunate name.
